All about me Part 3

Lets see what you can learn about me today!

I was pretty heartbroke when Jay left to be with his family for Christmas. I was set to pick him up at the San Francisco Airport on December 26th, 2003. I thought I would be all cute and romantic and pick up a couple red roses to have for my honey. I was standing there just before the security line with lots of other people. I wasn't really paying much attention to what was going on around me, just looking past everyone and waiting for Jay to come out.

I saw a guy walking through security from the passenger area carying a sign that said "Amber Leanne Brown".  It took me a few minutes to recognize that it was my name that was on his sign. I just thought he was looking for someone like in the movies, ya know.  I loudly yelled to the man that my name was on the paper he was holding. He handed it to me and said Merry Christmas. I thought oh how cute.. and just kept waiting for Jay to show up.

I noticed another person coming through also holding a sign. That one read, "I never want". When she saw me holding my name sign she smiled and handed me hers and also said Merry Christmas. I was trying to figure what was going on. I soon saw more signs that read, "To spend another", "Moment away from"..... and Jay finally came out holding a sign that said "You". I got all weepy and as he handed me the last sign he got down on his knee and opened up a ring box and proposed...

Of course I said yes (obviously) and the entire airport erupted in cheers and woo hoos. Here is our engagement photo. We took it in front of the pool hall / bar that we met at.

All about me Part 2

So where did we leave off? Oh going to visit my mom and more about the mystery man.

I drove home friday after work and proceeded to tell my mom about the mystery man. She told me that I should call him right away. To hear this from my mom was amazing. She has always been a very cautious lady. Never would I have imagined her telling me to do something crazy like call a guy from the internet and meet him at a bar for a drink. After much coaxing from her I decided to call him.

We decided to meet in the Tower District (great hangouts) at a pool hall / bar. We had a few drinks and played a couple games of pool, which I lost of course.  It was 2 am and time to close the bar. I drove home and crawled into bed. I didn't really ever get to sleep. Three hours later my mom woke me to help her with a yard sale. With eyes half closed I grabbed my giant mug of coffee and began to retell my date to my mom. I began with "I am so gonna marry that guy and he doesn't even know it"!

We went on another date saturday, and also sunday before I had to leave back home to Turlock. We talked on the computer and phone daily. I would drive to Fresno Fridays after work and back home Sundays. After a couple months I moved into his apartment in Fresno and began working at Children's Hospital again in the Laboratory.

In just 3 short months of dating my mystery man, he went home to Pensacola, Florida to be with his family at Christmas.

All about me Part 1

Welcome to my first ever blog.

I have been reading my friends two blogs for a couple months now and it occurred to me... "Why haven't I started my own?" So this is my attempt to document my life as a wife, mother and native Californian now living in Florida.

Here is a little information about myself you might or might-not find interesting.

I was born in the small town of Turlock, CA. My parents married and divorced at a young age. I was raised mostly by my mom in Fresno, CA about 2 hours south of where I was born. I was a pretty happy kid growing up. My mom and my dad each remarried when I was 9 years old. My step mom came into our family with her daughter Toni who is 4 years younger than me. My mom and step-dad had my sister Jamie, and my dad and step-mom had my brother Alec when I was 10.

I was in band throughout my school years, minus my freshman and senior years in high school. I had the amazing opportunity to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade November 1995. I held average grades in school. School and I have always had this love hate relationship. I loved subjects like science and english, but loathed math and history. I attempted many times to complete some sort of  degree, but it just wasn't in the books for me.

While working at Children's Hospital Central California in Madera, CA, I took a two day class on Phlebotomy and transferred from my secretary job to one in the Laboratory. It was rewarding yet heartbreaking working with so many sick children.

January of 2003 I moved to my hometown and lived in a tiny studio apartment attached to my great-grandmothers house. I loved my own little place. I love the feel of a small town compared to that of a big city like Fresno. I worked in a rehabilitation hospital as a social service assistant.

One week in September I was playing online and started chattin it up with this guy. He had recently moved to Fresno. Being the friendly person that I am, I had told him if he needed info on what to do or where to hang out just let me know. He gave me his number and said that I should give him a call next time I am in town. I called my mom to chat (we are very close and it was hard moving away) and she told me she wanted me to come home for a visit. When I got to moms I told her about my chance happening with this mystery man online. .....
